Nick and Lisa Pirihi (Takahiwai, 2019)

I played hockey with Craig at school and being aware of his reputation for quality builds he was always near the top of our list of preferred builders for our new home. Any doubt was removed after our first meeting with him – he didn’t promise to be the cheapest but we felt confident he’d deliver a quality build at a competitive price. Our budget was modest compared to many of his other builds, and this was our first time building a house – and it was to be our forever family home. We had so many questions about all aspects of the build (it was all so foreign to us!) and they were always answered by Craig efficiently, patiently and honestly. Long before we were close to signing a contract he had provided a lot of advice and help with navigating the pre-build process, and throughout the build he made sure things kept humming along at a good pace. The communication was excellent.

We were in a month earlier than expected and all within budget. Variations were never a problem – we only paid the difference in actual costs, and also received credits when things didn’t end up costing as much as quoted. Any minor issues that cropped up were quickly dealt with, and they have kept in contact since completion to ensure everything is up to spec and to complete any touch ups required. The whole team, including his tradies, were great to deal with – they all provided great advice and were receptive to any requests from us.

All in all, what could have been a stressful and unpleasant experience was made as smooth and painless as possible because of the great team who built our home. Thanks guys, we will be forever grateful.
